Fang Shangzhi, chief physician of the Orthopedics Department of the First People's Hospital of Fuyang District, Hangzhou, graduated from Zhejiang Medical University in 1968 with a major in clinical medicine. Retired in 2003 and has been employed ever since. He has been engaged in clinical work in orthopedics for more than 50 years and has been committed to the diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic diseases using the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine. A writer of Zhejiang Popular Science Writers Association and a recipient of "Fuyang Who's Who in the Past" of Fuyang Archives. In 2003, he participated in the establishment of Fuyang Institute of Orthopedics and Traumatology of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine (now Fuchun Institute of Orthopedics and Traumatology) and served as the director.
